Today, the Massoud Foundation Australia in partnership with The Social Policy Group (SPG), AFGHAN WOMEN ON THE MOVE , and Kateb Hazara Association held a Forum about Health & Wellbeing to discuss a range of health topics of interest to the Afghan community in Sydney.
The aim of this forum was to identify ways to effectively engage with community members regarding the ongoing importance of COVID-19 booster vaccination to address waning immunity and to keep the community safe, which may involve addressing other community priorities.
The guests were welcomed by Dr. Yasser Waheed, Director of Cultural Affairs at Massoud Foundation Australia. The panel was moderated by Maryam Zahid, CEO of Afghan Women on the Move, and facilitated by Dr. Nooria Mehraby a senior clinician at STARTTS, Dr. Mohammad Shir Ali, and Fawzia Hamdard from Multicultural Health.
Also, a mobile COVID-19 clinic was available on-site for people to get vaccinated and booster shots.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Farzana from the Kateb Hazara Association.
