On Tuesday, 2nd of February, we have received wonderful news from Paris, France. Advisor to the French President, Bernard Henry Levy the most prominent intellectual in France, The Mayor and the City Council of Paris unanimously voted to install a plaque in Paris, to honor Ahmad Shah Massoud and to recognise his contributions toward peace, justice, and freedom.
Twenty years after his assassination, France is the first country to honor the memory of Afghanistan’s National Hero, Ahmad Shah Massoud with a plaque in the city of Paris.
The Council of Paris will install the plaque in the 8th arrondissement in homage to Massoud, Arnaud Ngatcha, deputy of Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo and in charge of international relations, said on Twitter.
Ahmad Shah Massoud’s son, Ahmad Massoud thanked Levy and Hidalgo for recognizing his father’s contributions to peace, justice and freedom in Afghanistan. He is invited to attend the ceremony in Paris which will be held in March, this year.
